Production Planning Specialist, Horticulture

Job Description

The Production Planning Specialist will be responsible for planning crop sowing and harvesting schedules. To be successful in this role, the person will need to have horticultural knowledge and experience with crop cycles grown in greenhouses. The person will also need strong analytical skills, advanced level proficiency in Excel, and effective communication skills in Spanish and English

Must Haves:

1. Horticultural experience

2. Bilingual Spanish

3. 3-5 yrs exp

4. Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (assessments)

5. Proficiency with production planning software

Responsibilities

Key knowledge/skills/experience:

  • 3-5 years experience in greenhouse operations, specialty crop operations or agricultural supply chain/production planning
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel required
  • Familiarity with production management software platform
  • Fluency (speak, read, write) in English and Spanish required

  • Effective communicator and collaboration skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Working conditions:

  • The production office is a climate-controlled office located on a farm
  • Travel required to other farm locations within 10 minutes in San Marcos
  • Paths in production can be muddy or dusty depending on weather
  • Working outdoors and in greenhouses subject to weather, including high temperatures and sun exposure
